Former Pakistani pace legend and the Sultan of Swing, Wasim Akram, has pinpointed the weaknesses of Haris Rauf following a significant defeat against arch-rivals India during the ongoing World Cup 2023.
During a discussion on a local sports show regarding Haris Rauf, Wasim Akram identified these weaknesses by emphasizing that relying solely on pace is insufficient to secure wickets.

Wasim Akram stated, “While pace may work once or twice, top batters on these pitches won’t give you wickets if you rely solely on pace. You have to outfox them and create pressure by delivering dot balls when the field is open wide.”
He further explained, “The issue with Haris is that he does take wickets, there’s no doubt about that, but he concedes too many runs due to his inconsistency in length.”
Moreover, Akram also shed light on Shaheen Afridi’s performance in the World Cup so far. He believes that Shaheen has been somewhat unlucky.
After suffering a major injury last year, which necessitated an extended recovery period, Shaheen has performed well, especially in the match against India, where he took two crucial wickets, dismissing Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.
In the upcoming World Cup game, the Pakistan cricket team will face off against Australia on Friday, October 20th, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
