According to Iranian state TV, 16 members of Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice), a Sunni armed group, were killed in overnight clashes with security forces in the towns of Chabahar and Rask in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province, which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The attack targeted five military and security headquarters in Chabahar and Rask, and Iran has accused “foreign intelligence services” of orchestrating the assaults.

This incident marks one of the deadliest attacks carried out by Jaish al-Adl. The gunmen reportedly stormed various security and military compounds simultaneously, engaging in hours-long fighting with security forces. Despite their efforts, the attackers failed to seize control of the Guards headquarters in Chabahar and Rask.

As a result of the clashes, ten security officers were injured in the impoverished region, which has a predominantly Sunni Muslim population.
