13 Polling Stations Elevated to Highly Sensitive Category

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has responded to security agency recommendations by adding 13 more polling stations in Hyderabad district to the highly sensitive list, bringing the total to 181. These polling stations will now have the presence of local police, Pakistan Army, and Rangers personnel. The district police have finalized a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming general elections.

Out of the total 883 designated polling stations in Hyderabad district for three National Assembly and six Sindh Assembly seats, 181 are now categorized as “highly sensitive,” with special deployment of security personnel from the Pakistan Army and Rangers.

The security plan includes a deployment of over 4,500 police personnel across the district, divided into six zones, 13 sectors, and 28 sub-sectors. Quick response forces, patrolling units, and dedicated control rooms have been established to ensure security during the elections.

Hyderabad district has 1,225,147 registered voters, with plans in place to facilitate the voting process for both male and female constituents. The increased sensitivity of certain polling stations reflects the ECP’s commitment to maintaining a secure environment for voters and electoral proceedings.
