The Pakistan volleyball squad has clinched a decisive 3-0 victory against a formidable Chinese Taipei team during their second match at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
This impressive win has propelled the Men in Green into the next round, as they have emerged victorious in both of their round-stage matches, having previously defeated Mongolia. In their inaugural game at this prestigious event, the Green Shirts vanquished the 58th-ranked Mongolia team in a clean sweep, securing sets with scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-20 on Tuesday.

Following their latest victory against the 44th-ranked Chinese Taipei team, who had secured a Bronze medal in 2018, Pakistan’s national team has ascended to the summit of the points table, triumphing with scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-19.
In the subsequent stage, the top two teams from each pool will advance to the round of 12, where they will engage in cross-matches (B1 vs. E2, A2 vs. F1, A1 vs. F2, B2 vs. E1, C1 vs. D2, C2 vs. D1). As per the regulations, the victorious six teams from this phase will vie for rankings ranging from 1 to 6, while the remaining six teams will be positioned in the 7 to 12 rankings.
Notably, Pakistan’s volleyball team achieved a significant milestone in Asian Games history by clinching a third-place finish during the 1962 Jakarta Asian Games.
