You Can Pray Behind Imam-e-Kaaba in Islamabad this Friday

Sheikh Saleh Al Humaid, the revered custodian of Masjid Al Haram, Islam’s holiest mosque, has arrived in Islamabad for a crucial six-day visit aimed at enhancing the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During his stay, Sheikh Saleh is set to engage in discussions with Pakistani leaders and will lead the Friday prayers at Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque—a noteworthy event for the city’s residents, offering a rare opportunity to pray behind the Imam of Masjid Al Haram.

Sheikh Saleh, also an advisor to the Saudi Royal Court, has held prominent positions in the past, including heading Saudi Arabia’s Soura Council and serving as President of the High Judiciary Commission. Hailing from Buraydah, Saudi Arabia, he achieved Hafiz-e-Quran status at 20 and earned his Masters and PhD from Umm Al Qurra University in Makkah. He became an imam at Masjid Al Haram in 1983.

Upon his arrival, dignitaries such as caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti, caretaker Minister for Education Madad Ali Sindhi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al Malki, and other officials welcomed Imam-e-Kaaba.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, also holding the position of SAPM on Religious Harmony, highlighted the spiritual and diplomatic significance of Sheikh Saleh’s visit. He expressed expectations that the visit would advance the causes of peace, unity, and shared values between the two nations.

This visit is regarded as a substantial stride in fortifying the already close relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, reflecting a profound bond grounded in shared religious and cultural values.
