Iran has allegedly breached Pakistan’s airspace by launching airstrikes on a neighboring country, purportedly targeting a militant group. This incident is considered the latest manifestation of escalating violence in the region.
Pakistani authorities confirmed an Iranian cross-border attack that resulted in the death of two ‘innocent children’ in the Balochistan region. In response, Pakistan has warned Tehran of severe consequences for its actions.
Iran, in an official statement, claimed to have targeted Jaish al-Adl, an armed group, situated near the border region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly carried out missile and drone strikes in Balochistan.

Pakistan has strongly rejected Iran’s incursion, deeming it illegal and emphasizing the potential for serious repercussions. Notably, this marks Iran’s third consecutive cross-border attack, following strikes on Iraq and Syria.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned Iran’s actions as a significant violation of sovereignty, emphasizing the unacceptability of such attacks and the potential consequences. Despite existing channels of communication between both nations, Iran’s unilateral actions were met with strong disapproval. Pakistan has lodged a protest with the relevant senior official in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Iranian Charge d’affaires has been summoned to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey a robust condemnation of this blatant violation of sovereignty, making it clear that Iran bears responsibility for any ensuing consequences.
While acknowledging that terrorism poses a common threat requiring coordinated regional action, Pakistan underscored the importance of adhering to good neighborly relations and avoiding unilateral acts. This development occurs against the backdrop of heightened tensions across the Middle East, marked by conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen, involving various state and non-state actors. Both Pakistan and Iran have been grappling with armed groups, including Jaish al-Adl, in the shared Balochistan region.
