Karachi Urged to Store and Conserve Water

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has announced an interruption in water supply on February 24 and 25 (Saturday and Sunday) due to maintenance work by K-Electric at the Hub Dam.

According to a statement by the KW&SC, maintenance work will be conducted on the Valika Grid Station for electricity during this period.

As a result, the Valika Grid will be completely shut down, leading to a cessation of electricity supply to all feeder stations of the pumping station and filter plant.

The maintenance work is scheduled to commence at 8 am on February 24 and will continue until 6 pm the following day, resulting in a total shutdown duration of 48 hours.

The statement from KW&SC mentioned that due to this maintenance work, the city will experience an overall shortage of 200 million gallons of water from the Hub Dam.

In light of this situation, the KW&SC has urged citizens to store water and use it judiciously to minimize inconvenience.
