ISPR Announces Perpetrator of Mir Ali Attack Killed

In a successful operation conducted by security forces in North Waziristan on Monday, eight militants, including the perpetrator of the March 16 attack on an army camp, were eliminated. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the operation, stating that it was based on intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area.

During the operation, an intense exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of eight militants, including the commander and a high-value target known as Shera alias Janan. Janan was identified as the orchestrator of the March 16 attack, during which seven security personnel, including two officers, were martyred.

Janan was a highly sought-after target for law enforcement agencies, and his elimination marks a significant achievement in the fight against terrorism, according to the ISPR statement. Sanitization operations are ongoing to eradicate any remaining terrorists in the area, underscoring the security forces’ determination to eradicate terrorism from the country.

This operation comes shortly after a militant attack on a Frontier Corps’ post in the Khaddi market area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan, where six militants stormed the post, resulting in the martyrdom of five security personnel, including Lt Col Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar. The attackers, affiliated with a group associated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur, claimed responsibility for the attack.
