Recently, a significant milestone was reached as the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan (CAA), with support from China, conducted a five-day flight test operation starting on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The inaugural test flight received a traditional salute upon touchdown.

The primary objective of this crucial testing phase was to evaluate the performance, quality, and safety of various navigation facilities, flight procedures, and landing strips. With the completion of these tests, the project is now ready to enter its final phase.

Upon its completion and handover to local authorities later this year, the New Gwadar International Airport is poised to become a symbol of modernity in Gwadar. It has the potential to significantly enhance the city’s infrastructure and strengthen its role in regional development.
