Chinese Lunar Probe Brings First Far Side Moon Samples

A Chinese spacecraft that journeyed to the Moon’s far side successfully returned to Earth on Tuesday after a 53-day mission, marking a significant milestone in space exploration. The China National Space Administration announced that the Chang’e-6 module landed in Inner Mongolia at 2:07 pm (0607 GMT), confirming the mission’s success.

The samples collected from this less-explored region of the Moon are anticipated to provide scientists with new insights into the Moon’s formation and evolution. This area, characterized by its rugged terrain, has undergone less alteration compared to the side facing Earth.
