Google has announced the selection of two Pakistani startups, AdalFi and Adlytic AI, to join its inaugural Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This initiative aims to enhance the startups’ AI solutions and accelerate business development. A total of 23 companies from across the APAC region were chosen to participate in this program.

The AI Academy kicked off earlier this week with a three-day boot camp in Singapore. Participants will receive more than 170 hours of mentorship from AI and Cloud experts, as well as access to up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits. This program also offers networking opportunities with AI innovators across the APAC region.

Launched in August, the AI Academy is designed to support the growth of AI startups in Pakistan and the broader APAC area. It aims to foster cross-border innovations and partnerships, facilitating the exchange of ideas and resources to propel the development of AI solutions, positioning the APAC region as a global hub for AI innovation.

Both selected startups are making significant contributions to Pakistan’s AI ecosystem. AdalFi focuses on increasing access to financial services through an AI-powered credit scoring system, promoting financial inclusion for millions. Meanwhile, Adlytic AI enhances retail analytics by transforming CCTV cameras into intelligent business tools, helping retailers utilize visual and geospatial data effectively.

Micheal Kim, Head of Google for Startups, expressed excitement about the program, highlighting its potential to address pressing challenges in underserved sectors like finance and healthcare. He stated that the AI Academy aims to inspire a wave of innovation with far-reaching effects throughout the Asia-Pacific region, culminating in a showcase of refined AI solutions by the startups on Graduation Day in December.
