PM Shehbaz Appeals for Donations to PM's Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the nation, particularly the wealthy, to contribute to the Prime Minister’s relief fund for Gaza and Lebanon as Pakistan steps up its humanitarian aid efforts. During a review meeting on the country’s aid operations for Gaza and Beirut, he emphasized the importance of providing support to those suffering from Israeli aggression. He announced that two planes carrying aid supplies would be dispatched, with additional goods to be sent through land routes.

Shehbaz Sharif also directed Pakistani ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to enhance the distribution of aid, ensuring it reaches those in need. He urged the media to promote awareness of the relief fund to encourage donations and support from the public.

Pakistan is sending critical supplies, including tents, clothing, blankets, medicine, food, and water, to the conflict-affected areas. However, Israeli blockades and attacks have posed significant challenges in delivering the aid. The Prime Minister assured NGOs that the government would assist in facilitating the transfer of relief goods to Gaza and Lebanon.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) continues its aid efforts, recently dispatching a 100-ton shipment of essential supplies to Beirut, coordinated with the Al-Khidmat Foundation. This marks the twelfth aid consignment sent to Gaza and Lebanon, with ten earlier shipments designated for Palestine.

Additionally, a second batch of 64 Palestinian medical and dental students from Gaza has arrived safely in Islamabad to continue their education under a scholarship program supported by various organizations. This initiative, launched by Pakistan’s foreign ministry in July, aims to offer educational opportunities to Palestinian students amid the ongoing conflict.
