Gursimran Kaur, a 19-year-old employee at a Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was tragically found dead in the store’s walk-in oven. Her mother, who also works at the store, discovered her after several unsuccessful attempts to contact her.

Initially, other staff members believed Gursimran was assisting a customer, but her mother later found her “charred remains” inside the oven. The horrific discovery has led to an outpouring of support, with a GoFundMe campaign organized by a local Sikh society raising over C$192,000 for the family, far surpassing the initial goal of C$50,000.
Halifax Police have confirmed the discovery of the teenager’s body in the oven, and the investigation is ongoing, with the cause of death yet to be determined.
