Apple Launches iOS 18.1 with New AI Platform ‘Apple Intelligence’ for iPhone 16 and 15 Pro

Apple

Apple has officially released iOS 18.1, introducing its new AI platform, Apple Intelligence, for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro models. This update also extends Apple Intelligence to iPads and Macs, marking a significant move for the company to enhance its AI capabilities and boost interest in the iPhone 16 series, which debuted last month.

Apple Intelligence is designed to leverage the internal chip of the iPhone, differing from other tech companies that rely on cloud-based AI powered by Nvidia hardware. The initial features of Apple Intelligence include text tools for proofreading and rewriting, object removal in photos, and a notification summary that condenses alerts into a single message. Siri has also been updated, showcasing a new interface that highlights the screen edges and improves its ability to answer questions related to Apple products. While Siri’s capabilities remain limited within apps, broader functionalities are expected in the future, along with potential integration with ChatGPT in the upcoming iOS 18.2.
