Google is set to improve the Gmail experience by rolling out the “Help me write” feature for web users, designed to simplify the email composition process. This tool allows users to create new drafts or modify existing emails efficiently, bringing the functionality found in mobile devices to desktop users.
When opening a blank draft, users will see a prompt to use “Help me write,” which is available only to Google One AI Premium subscribers and those with the Gemini add-on for Google Workspace. This feature not only helps generate email drafts but also provides suggestions to formalize, elaborate, or shorten messages, enhancing the professionalism of user correspondence.

In addition, Google is introducing a new “polish” shortcut for drafts containing over 12 words. By using the shortcut or the keyboard command Ctrl + H, users can quickly refine their emails for clarity and professionalism. On mobile devices, the existing “Refine my draft” option will be replaced with the “polish” feature, automatically enhancing messages without additional input.
The rollout of these features is set to begin today, with Google gradually making them available to users over the next few days. With these updates, Gmail users can look forward to a more streamlined and efficient email drafting experience.
