Foreign Currency and Cellphones Rained Down at Lavish Sialkot Wedding

In a lavish wedding celebration in Sialkot, a UK-returned groom’s friends showered guests with foreign currency, expensive cellphones, and suits.

Viral footage on social media shows the groom’s friends throwing cash and mobile phones from a balcony to a crowd of excited guests, including children, who eagerly tried to catch them.

Additionally, high-end clothes were distributed among attendees as the wedding procession (barat) reached Narowal, where suits and currency notes were also scattered for the guests.

Extravagant wedding events like this are a common tradition in Pakistan, often stretching for days. In a similar instance in June, a groom in Kot Addu became the center of attention when his uncle gifted him a 30-foot-long garland made of Rs50 and Rs100 notes, valued at Rs500,000.

The garland, much longer than the groom himself, drew attention as guests took selfies and admired the unique gift.
