In response to escalating air pollution, the Punjab government has implemented a work-from-home policy for both public and private offices in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan divisions.
Under the new rules, offices will function with only 50% of staff on-site, while the rest will work remotely to reduce commuting-related pollution and limit exposure to harmful smog.

The policy aims to ease congestion and help lower emissions in highly affected areas.
During a press conference, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb outlined the government’s efforts to tackle the health risks of the ongoing smog crisis, stressing the importance of using virtual platforms like Zoom for meetings.
