The inaugural FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2 for men will take place in Muscat, Oman, from February 17 to 23, 2025. This new event provides an opportunity for eight nations ranked below those in the FIH Hockey Pro League and the FIH Hockey Nations Cup to compete for a chance to be promoted into the 2026 FIH Nations Cup.

The teams set to participate include Austria, Chile, China, Egypt, Oman, Poland, Scotland, and the USA. The creation of this tournament aligns with the FIH Empowerment and Engagement strategy, which aims to increase competition opportunities for National Associations.
Dr. Marwan Juma Al Juma, Chairman of Hockey Oman, expressed excitement about hosting the event, highlighting it as a significant milestone for the sport in the region. FIH President Tayyab Ikram praised Oman’s commitment to hosting prestigious events, following the successful organization of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup.
