Following the massacre of at least 43 people in Kurram, residents across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa protested to condemn the attack and demand justice, though these demonstrations quickly turned violent.
In Kohat, protesters stoned vehicles, set a pickup truck on fire, and disrupted traffic between Kohat and Hangu, prompting a heavy police response. Demonstrators in Parachinar held funeral prayers for the victims, while local markets and schools remained closed, and roads were blocked with burning tyres.

In Bannu, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) organized protests, criticizing the government’s failure to ensure security and calling for action against those responsible for the massacre.
They demanded the Supreme Court take notice, initiate an inquiry, and hold the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister accountable for his incompetence. Protesters also called for immediate assistance, including opening the Afghan border, providing supplies, and activating the Parachinar airport due to unsafe roads.
Meanwhile, survivors and community leaders in Parachinar reported that many passengers were still stranded, and a shortage of essential supplies like food, medicine, fuel, and oxygen was making the situation dire.
The tragic attack, which saw a convoy ambushed, claimed the lives of men, women, and children, and injured many others, further inflaming sectarian tensions in the area.
