Winter vacations for Punjab schools will run from December 20, 2024, to January 10, 2025. The decision comes in response to severe smog and air pollution, particularly in urban areas like Lahore.

Authorities cited health and safety as key reasons for the early break, with many schools already transitioning to online learning due to hazardous air quality. The academic calendar and exams will be adjusted accordingly.
The government also launched smog awareness campaigns, urging families to limit outdoor activities and use protective measures like masks. Schools will reopen on January 11, 2025.
