Following the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Israel has declared the 1974 Golan Heights buffer zone agreement null and void. In a strategic move, Israeli forces have advanced to positions on Mount Hermon, a highly significant peak located near the Lebanon border.
Mount Hermon, with its elevated position, offers Israel a critical observational advantage, allowing enhanced surveillance of Syria and Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon.
