The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Survey predicts a dramatic shift in the global labour market by 2030, with 170 million new jobs emerging—14% of today’s employment. Advances in AI, robotics, and energy innovation, coupled with efforts to expand digital access, are key drivers of this transformation.

Despite these gains, 92 million existing roles will be displaced, resulting in a net employment growth of 78 million jobs or 7%. Sectors like climate adaptation and the green transition are expected to boost farmworker roles by 34 million. Other fast-growing professions include delivery drivers, software developers, and care roles like nursing.
