Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its intention to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8, 2025, with a request submitted to the Lahore administration for approval. The rally will take place at Greater Iqbal Park, and PTI’s Chief Organiser Aliya Hamza has formally requested permission from the deputy commissioner of Lahore for the event.
The organizing committee for the rally includes key figures such as Aliya Hamza, opposition leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, and Ali Ijaz Butt. PTI sources have made it clear that if the approval is denied, the party will initiate nationwide protests in response.

Meanwhile, PTI’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar has criticized the ruling coalition for its failure to resolve political tensions through dialogue. PTI had previously walked out of negotiations with the PML-N-led government, accusing them of not taking necessary steps, including the formation of judicial commissions.
In light of stalled talks, PTI is planning district-level protests on February 8 against alleged election rigging, culminating in a large protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk. PTI has also hinted at a major reorganization within the party, with the leadership moving towards more hardline figures.
