Heartbroken American citizen O’Neija Andrew Robbins has demanded a weekly compensation of $5,000 from the Pakistani government after being rejected by a 19-year-old Karachi boy.
The 33-year-old New Yorker and mother of two gained media attention after the family of Nidal Memon, a resident of Garden West, Karachi, declined her marriage proposal. Robbins was initially stranded at Karachi Airport for a week and refused to return to the United States.

Following the rejection, she is now insisting on financial support from the Pakistani government, seeking $5,000 per week. In a desperate attempt to win over Memon and his family, she camped outside their locked residence in Karachi. When approached by a local journalist to share her story, she requested $3,000 for an interview. Additionally, she urged Pakistani authorities to grant her citizenship and provide financial aid.
Due to concerns over her mental health and safety, local police initially took her to a women’s police station. However, after repeated insistence, she was later allowed to return to the Garden area.
Her unusual demands and refusal to leave Pakistan without financial assistance have drawn widespread public attention, with many expressing shock over her requests and the complexities of her situation.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government is closely monitoring the case, while the US Consulate is involved in efforts to facilitate her return to the United States.
