Wildlife authorities in Lahore’s Model Town area have arrested two dealers involved in the illegal trade of precious snakes and parrots. The operation, carried out under the direction of Punjab Wildlife Director General Mudassar Riaz Malik, led to the capture of the suspects and the seizure of a python.
Deputy Director of Wildlife Lahore Region, Asim Kamran, spearheaded the crackdown, which targeted an illegal snake dealer. Investigations into the smuggling of snakes are ongoing.

In a separate part of the operation, another individual dealing in the illegal trade of cockatoos was apprehended. Legal proceedings have been initiated against both suspects.
Wildlife officials stressed the importance of curbing illegal wildlife trade, highlighting its detrimental impact on the environment and its punishable status under the law. They urged the public to report such activities to protect wildlife.
The arrested dealers will face court, and authorities have promised strict legal action against them.
