A collision on the Islamabad Expressway has resulted in the loss of four lives.

Four individuals lost their lives, and five others sustained injuries following a collision between a car and a motorbike on the Islamabad Expressway. The tragic incident took place near Dhok Kala Khan stop in Rawalpindi. Emergency responders promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital, while the deceased were taken to PIMS Hospital. Reports indicate that four of the injured are in critical condition.

Sources suggest that two of the deceased and all the injured individuals were part of the Christian community. Additionally, there were allegations that the occupants of the car were under the influence of alcohol.

Notably, on December 22, there were 1,197 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) reported in all 37 districts of Punjab within 24 hours. Among these incidents, 13 fatalities and 1,280 injuries were reported. Of the injured, 572 with severe injuries were transferred to various hospitals, while 708 victims with minor injuries received treatment from rescue medical teams.

The majority of the accidents involved motorbikes, and analysis revealed that 696 drivers, 43 underage drivers, 162 pedestrians, and 435 passengers were among the victims.
