“Eight bodies and an injured girl were extracted from the rubble and transported to the hospital,” he said.

A large landslip struck the area when the children were playing cricket, burying them beneath, according to Abid.

He stated that Rescue 1122 teams had rushed to the scene to recover the youngsters, and that an emergency had been declared at the Martunga rural health centre and the Puran Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where the bodies and injured had been transferred.

The official went on to say that heavy machinery was used in the rescue effort, and that people also assisted in the operation, which has now finished.

“According to KP government policy, the families of the deceased will receive Rs500,000 in compensation, while the injured child will receive Rs200,000,” DC Abid stated.

Meanwhile, residents informed that the majority of the murdered children, aged nine to fourteen, were siblings.
