A distressing incident unfolded in the capital as a student from a private university was reportedly gang-raped. The Shalimar police station registered a case against the two suspects under sections 375 (rape) and 292 (sale, etc., of obscene books) of the PPC following the complaint filed by the victim.

One of the accused is identified as a fellow student at the same university, while the other is reported to be his friend. According to the FIR, the victim, acquainted with students from other courses at the university, was lured to E-11/2 on Tuesday under the pretext of a meal by one of the students and his friend.

Subsequently, she was taken to a flat, where the alleged rape occurred. The perpetrators also filmed the act, using it to threaten the victim with viral exposure if she raised an alarm. The police are actively investigating the case.
