After a quick visit to Pakistan, Jack Ma sails for Uzbekistan.

LAHORE, Pakistan — Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma is said to have returned from a brief private visit to Pakistan.

The Chinese businessman arrived in Islamabad on June 29, travelled to Lahore, and then flew to Uzbekistan the next day on a private plane.

Because it was a private tour, the 58-year-old avoided dealing with government officials and the media throughout his brief visit. The businessman was accompanied by five persons from his home country, in addition to one American and one Danish citizen.

He stayed at Kathmandu’s Dwarika Hotel and explored the city, visiting renowned Thamel, Kalimati Market, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

According to Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, a former minister of state and current head of the Board of Investment (BOI), Jack Ma was in Lahore, and even the Chinese Embassy was unaware of his visit.

The well-known Chinese philanthropist and entrepreneur “was actually in Lahore on purely a private visit,” he tweeted.
