After a student was ‘taken up’ from university grounds, KU students protested.

KARACHI: After a fellow student was “picked up” from inside the varsity’s grounds on Friday, students at Karachi University protested.

The student, who is enrolled in the Department of Urdu, was picked up, according to the protestors who spoke to Geo News. The individuals, according to them, claimed to be from a law enforcement organisation.

Dr. Moiz Khan, the KU security advisor, claimed that Rangers had separated themselves from the situation.

The administration of the institution is currently reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to pinpoint the students and those who picked him up.

Following the event, students stopped University Road and organised a protest at KU’s Silver Jubilee Gate. But they dispersed at the police’s urging and are now demonstrating in front of the varsity’s administration. The student was allegedly employed by the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), which has pledged to continue protesting until he is freed.
