The prolonged absence of rainfall has led to an increase in weather-related ailments across the country. Recently, health authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported a surge in cases of the influenza virus. Peshawar, in particular, recorded higher cases of influenza and pneumonia compared to other districts, including Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, and Haripur.

Additionally, dozens of children have lost their lives due to pneumonia in Punjab. The provincial health department reported 491 cases of pneumonia across the province in the last 24 hours. The upcoming rain and snowfall are expected to bring relief from the dry weather conditions but may also pose challenges for regions experiencing dense fog and smog.
