Apple's Vision Pro Headset Set for US Release on Feb 2

Apple has announced that its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset will be available for sale in the United States starting from February 2.

Priced at $3,499, the headset represents Apple’s most significant product launch since the original iPhone in 2007. Pre-orders for the device will begin on January 19 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time (13:00 GMT). The Vision Pro, unveiled in June 2023, features advanced technology, including an exterior display revealing the user’s eyes to the external world and a new chip designed to process sensor information rapidly.

Despite its impressive capabilities, the headset requires continuous connection to a power source and comes with a high price tag, limiting early adoption to wealthier users and tech enthusiasts. Analysts and investors anticipate the device to contribute minimally to revenue, with sales expected in modest numbers.

The headset will face competition in a crowded market and directly challenge Meta Platforms, marking a significant move for Apple in mixed and virtual reality. Compared to Meta’s top-of-the-line Quest Pro mixed reality device, the Vision Pro is priced at over three times the cost, emphasizing its premium positioning in the market.Top of Form
