Attempting to conceal ‘horror stories’: Imran answers to Sana’s claims

After Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah revealed that intelligence agencies intercepted a call in which it was revealed that a fake encounter and rape incident were to be staged on Saturday night by some members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), party chairman Imran Khan took to Twitter and said that the minister was “so obviously” attempting to cover up “horror stories.”

The ex-premier responded to the minister’s late-night news conference with an early-morning tweet, stating that “if there were any doubts about women being mistreated in jails, this press conference from this certified criminal should remove all such doubts.”

“Women have never been so mistreated and harassed by the state as they have been by this fascist gov[ernmen]t when they were exercising their right to protest peacefully,” he added.

Sana swiftly scheduled a press conference in the early hours of Sunday, claiming that the former ruling party had devised a heinous conspiracy to accuse the government and institutions for these incidents in the world media.

The minister stated in the intercepted phone that two types of arrangements were being developed without revealing the people involved or making the conversation public.

One plan was to raid the home of a PTI worker and open fire, resulting in casualties to demonstrate to the world that severe human rights violations were occurring in Pakistan, he added.

The second plot, according to the minister, is to organise a rape, with the footage shared with global media channels to spread the alleged abuse against the PTI.

The minister stated that the phoney encounter and rape plans were likely to be carried out on Saturday night, which is why he opted to share data with the nation via television screens after midnight.

According to Sanaullah, the objective was to blame the false encounter of a PTI worker during the so-called raid at his or her apartment and the fake rape on intelligence and law enforcement officers.

He slammed Imran, claiming that the intention of his play was to mislead the nation. He went on to say that the PTI chief’s politics had reached a natural end. All those involved in the May 9 incidents will now face charges.
