The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), along with Rawalpindi police, reportedly conducted a raid at the offices of Bahria Town Rawalpindi on Tuesday. While NAB has not officially confirmed this action, CCTV footage circulating on social media seems to verify the raid. The purpose of the raid was reportedly to seize records related to the controversial Al-Qadir Trust case. Malik Riaz, the owner of Bahria Town, and his son Ali Malik, who are currently in the UAE, have been declared proclaimed offenders in this case, which involves an alleged £190 million payment.

Following the raid, Malik Riaz took to social media, sharing what appeared to be CCTV footage showing individuals searching through an office. He vehemently condemned the raid, stating that he would not yield to pressure despite facing oppression. In his social media post, Malik Riaz accused the authorities of conducting the raid without legal authority and described the actions as “fascist, unlawful, intimidating.” He claimed that the raid resulted in the harassment and abduction of nine security and staff members from the offices.

According to Malik Riaz’s account, the raiding teams seized numerous important project files, office records, computers, cash, and vehicles. He estimated the damage to the building to be around Rs. 5 million.

Malik Riaz demanded the immediate release of Bahria Town staff, the return of all seized documents and equipment, and reassured the families of missing staff members of Bahria Town’s support in securing their release. He concluded by expressing his commitment to upholding the rule of law and urged the people of Pakistan to judge him based on his actions.
