His call for unity against terrorism comes in the aftermath of a deadly attack on a Chinese convoy in Besham, Shangla district, where six people, including five Chinese engineers, lost their lives in a suicide bombing. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the interior ministry to enhance cooperation with provinces to counter terrorism effectively. He personally pledged to review security arrangements for Chinese nationals and ensure their safety. Additionally, the armed forces, led by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring the security of foreign citizens, especially Chinese nationals contributing to Pakistan’s development projects.
