His call for unity against terrorism comes in the aftermath of a deadly attack on a Chinese convoy in Besham, Shangla district, where six people, including five Chinese engineers, lost their lives in a suicide bombing. This incident, along with previous attacks on Chinese nationals, underscores the persistent threat of terrorism in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the interior ministry to enhance cooperation with provinces to counter terrorism effectively. He personally pledged to review security arrangements for Chinese nationals and ensure their safety.
