Bad news for Gold owners in Pakistan

On Monday, the price of gold in Pakistan rose further, closing at Rs. 225,300 a tola.

The price of gold (24 carats) increased by Rs. 2,500 per tola to Rs. 225,300, according to data issued by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), while the price of 10 kilos grew by Rs. 2,143 to close at Rs. 193,158.

After plunging to Rs. 204,000 per tola on July 12, the precious metal’s price has made rapid gains. Gold prices have risen by over Rs. 10,000 per tola in the recent week.

By 0536 GMT, spot gold was essentially unchanged at $1,960.01 per ounce, while US gold futures were down 0.2 percent to $1,961.80.
