Pakistan’s IT Exports Jump 34% in July 2024

In July 2024, Pakistan’s IT exports surged by 34%, reaching $286 million, a significant increase from the previous 12-month average of $269 million. This growth means that IT exports now make up 46% of the country’s total exports for the first month of the fiscal year 2025.

The rise is attributed to favorable policy changes, including an increase in the limit for special foreign currency accounts for exporters and the stabilization of the Pakistani rupee. These factors have created a favorable environment for the IT sector’s expansion.

The IT sector is expected to exceed $3.5 billion in exports for the fiscal year 2025. The Ministry of IT, along with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), is working on initiatives to further enhance IT export growth.
