Weekly Inflation Rises by 0.01%, Annual Rate Hits 14.36%

Weekly inflation rose slightly by 0.01%, with the annual rate reaching 14.36%, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The report notes that prices for essential goods have been inconsistent, with 15 items becoming more expensive and 14 decreasing in price over the past week.

Significant price increases include chicken, which went up by Rs16 per kg, and electricity, which rose by 26 paisas per unit. Other notable hikes include daal channa, up by Rs9.26 per kg, garlic by Rs12 per kg, beef by Rs11 per kg, and mutton by Rs14 per kg.

Conversely, some items saw price drops, such as bananas, which decreased by Rs8 per dozen, daal maash by Rs8 per kg, and a 20kg bag of flour by Rs17.

Eggs also became cheaper, with a dozen falling by Rs3. The fluctuating prices of these essential commodities continue to impact households, contributing to financial stress due to rising food and utility costs.
