China Delivers 160 Electric Buses To Pakistan

China has officially handed over a fleet of 160 electric buses to Pakistan in a ceremony held at Suzhou Industrial Park, China. These electric buses are equipped with advanced features such as zero emissions, low operating costs, and minimal noise pollution, contributing to improved efficiency in public transportation operations and enhancing the overall quality of public travel.

The intelligent operation system T-BOX has been incorporated into these electric buses, providing software intelligence. This system enables real-time monitoring of driver behavior and vehicle operation data, ensuring operational safety and enhancing passenger travel security.

The introduction of these 160 electric buses is considered a significant milestone, marking a new beginning in the realm of public transportation within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Sharjeel Inam Memon, a leader from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), announced the arrival of the new bus fleet in Karachi. Memon expressed his optimism about the positive impact of these buses on Karachi’s transportation system. The fleet is procured by the PPP-led Sindh government and is considered the second phase of the People’s Bus Service initiative. Memon highlighted the anticipated benefits for the residents of Karachi, emphasizing improved transportation services and cost-effectiveness. The public is expected to have access to these buses in the coming days.
