A tragic incident involving a Chinese couple, Zhang Bo and his girlfriend Ye Chengchen, has culminated in their execution for the heinous act of throwing Zhang’s two children off the 15th floor of a residential tower in 2020, as reported by the New York Post.
The execution followed their convictions in 2021, where Zhang was found guilty of murdering his two children—a two-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy. Ye, his girlfriend, was convicted for encouraging the heinous act, deeming the children as “obstacles” to their future lives. Legal injections were used to carry out the executions.

The grim incident unfolded against the backdrop of an extramarital affair between Zhang and Ye. Zhang, who failed to disclose his existing marriage to Ye, faced pressure from her to divorce his wife. Tragically, this escalated to Ye urging Zhang to take the unthinkable step of killing his own children.
The appeals process extended over time, resulting in a prolonged legal journey that led to a second trial for Zhang and Ye. Zhang, at the time of the murder, claimed he was asleep and only became aware of the tragic events when he heard screams from downstairs.
The children’s mother, deeply affected by the loss, recounted the horrifying details of the incident. Zhang had requested to take care of his daughter on the day he committed the unthinkable act. The mother expressed profound shock and despair, struggling to comprehend the unimaginable ordeal her children faced from the 15th floor to the ground.
This heart-wrenching case serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of a complex and tragic web of deceit, infidelity, and the unfathomable toll it took on innocent lives.
