A special nine-member committee has been formed to oversee the split of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) into two new organizations: the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) and the Bureau of Air Safety Investigation (BASI).
The committee is tasked with transferring assets, funds, employees, records, and equipment between these entities. The committee has a deadline of 15 October to complete its tasks.
Shazia Rizvi, Joint Secretary II of the Ministry of Aviation, will lead the committee, with Vice Air Marshal Taimoor Iqbal serving as deputy. Other members include representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the CAA, and other relevant departments.
