CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Wears Punjab Police Uniform Again

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently donned a police uniform again while attending the passing out parade of the province’s Elite Force. Clad in the black police uniform, she addressed the officers at the event, expressing her joy in participating in the ceremony dressed in uniform.

Maryam highlighted the symbolic significance of the police uniform, emphasizing that it represents a national duty entrusted to a select few. She praised the new recruits for their six months of rigorous training, underscoring the solidarity and commitment shared by those in uniform.

PML-N leaders and Punjab IGP Usman Anwar accompanied her at the event in Lahore. As the chief guest, Maryam reviewed the police units and presented awards to the top cadets. This was not the first time she wore the police uniform; in April, she attended a passing-out ceremony for women constables and traffic assistants, which also stirred controversy among rival politicians.

Reflecting on her experience in April, Maryam remarked on the significant responsibilities carried by both police officers and the chief minister. She noted the crucial role of decision-making in the chief minister’s office and its implementation by the police force.

Maryam Nawaz made history by becoming Pakistan’s first female chief minister on February 26, after winning the election with 220 votes. Her opponent, Rana Aftab Iqbal of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), received no votes due to an election boycott by SIC members.
