Complete Process of Online Application for Learner’s Driving Licenses

The interim Punjab government has taken a groundbreaking step forward by introducing an online platform for individuals seeking to acquire a learner’s driving license.

This innovative initiative is aimed at enhancing public convenience and simplifying the often complex process of obtaining a driving license, particularly in response to the substantial surge in the number of applicants.

Mohsin Naqvi, the Interim Chief Minister, unveiled this online service recently, emphasizing its accessibility via the Punjab Police app and its availability across 737 police stations and Khidmat Marakiz spread throughout Punjab.

Guidelines for Online Learner’s License Application:

  1. Register on the DLIMS licensing website.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. Upload the necessary documents.
  4. Generate a payment slip ID and proceed with payment through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.

Documents Required for the Online Application:

  • Applicant’s photograph.
  • Scanned copy or image of both sides of the original CNIC.
  • For applicants aged 50 and above, a medical certificate endorsed by a government doctor.

It’s crucial to note that the provincial cabinet previously approved a significant increase in the fee for learner’s driving licenses, raising it from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1000, marking a staggering 1566% surge.

However, citizens have until December 31 to obtain licenses at the current rate. Starting January 1, 2024, a revised fee structure will be implemented.

This initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to modernizing and simplifying administrative processes, ensuring ease and accessibility for citizens while adapting to the evolving technological landscape.
