“Lanterns,” the highly anticipated new addition to the DC Universe, has officially announced its team of writers, with confirmation coming from series co-head James Gunn. Gunn, known for his work on “Guardians of the Galaxy,” revealed via Instagram that Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and Tom King will be spearheading the writing for the series.

In his post, Gunn shared his excitement: “Yes, it’s true. The Lanterns DCU series is putting together a crack team of writers, based on a wonderful pilot script and bible by Chris Mundy, Tom King, and Damon Lindelof. A hearty welcome to Chris and damonlindelof as they join the DC Studios family (no welcome necessary for old tomking_tk, who has been here nearly since inception).”

Damon Lindelof is renowned for his work on the 2019 series “Watchmen,” which earned the 2020 Emmy for Outstanding Limited Series. Chris Mundy has garnered critical acclaim for his contributions to series such as “True Detective” and “Ozark.” Tom King brings extensive experience from his many years of writing for DC Comics.

Development of “Lanterns” began in 2023, but an official release date for the series has not yet been announced. Fans of the DC Universe are eagerly awaiting more details on this exciting project.
