Security forces operating in DI Khan have successfully apprehended the mastermind along with seven accomplices linked to the recent compound attack that resulted in a devastating loss of at least 23 soldiers. This arrest comes following the elimination of more than two dozen terrorists in a previous operation conducted in the region just a week ago.
The operation led to the capture of a total of nine terrorists, including the key orchestrator and seven supporters directly associated with the compound assault. Investigations have revealed that the primary architect behind the fatal attack hailed from the Daraban area of DI Khan, while six other suspects have been identified as originating from Afghanistan.
Among the crucial findings was the identification of the suicide bomber, Hassan, also known as Shakir, who recorded a video prior to the attack. Hassan is confirmed to be of Afghan origin, adding a cross-border dimension to the assault.
As inquiries continued, connections emerged indicating the involvement of five terrorists affiliated with the banned TTP Gandapur group. Notably, a substantial cache of weapons was seized from the arrested individuals, underscoring the severity of the threat and the extent of the planning involved in the attack.
The successful operation and arrests signify a crucial milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb terrorism in the region. Authorities are continuing their investigations to dismantle further networks associated with this attack and prevent future threats to security and stability in DI Khan and surrounding areas.
