Drake Loses $565,000 Betting on Tyson Fury Fight

Drake suffered another significant gambling loss on Saturday night after betting $565,000 on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight title bout. This incident adds weight to Kendrick Lamar’s claims about Drake’s gambling addiction, as mentioned in his diss track “Meet the Grahams.”

Earlier on Saturday, Drake took to Instagram to share his betting slip, revealing his $565,000 wager on Fury. Had Fury won, Drake stood to gain over $1 million. However, the match at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ended in a split decision loss for Fury. One judge initially scored the fight 114-113 in Fury’s favor, but this was overturned by two other judges who scored it 114-113 and 115-112 for Usyk, handing Fury his first professional defeat and making Usyk the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Drake’s penchant for sports betting is well-documented, with his losses often becoming a topic of public discussion. His high-profile bets and the subsequent losses have led to a running joke about a “Drake curse,” where the teams or players he backs often face defeat.

In addition to this recent loss, Drake has experienced other significant setbacks in his betting ventures. He lost a six-figure sum when Anthony Joshua defeated Francis Ngannou and suffered a $700,000 loss following Dricus Du Plessis’s victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 297. He also lost $550,000 when Israel Adesanya was defeated by Sean Strickland and another $890,000 betting on Logan Paul to knock out Dillon Danis.

Despite these losses, Drake had a substantial win earlier this year. In February 2024, he placed a $1.15 million bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. The Chiefs’ thrilling overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers earned him a $2.3 million payout.

Drake’s gambling habits continue to draw attention, especially with high-profile losses like the recent one involving Tyson Fury, which only fuel the ongoing discussions about his betting strategies and the risks associated with his love for sports wagering.
