Cambridge International Has Chosen Not To Award Marks For a Leaked A-level Maths Paper

Cambridge International Education has announced it will not award marks for the A-level mathematics paper leaked online in May 2024 to Pakistani students. Instead, the marks will be based on the students’ performance in other mathematics papers.

The decision follows an official report on the May 2 leak, which revealed that the leaked paper would not be considered for grading. Students affected by this situation can retake the mathematics paper in November 2024, with no additional fees for the retake.

The issue came to light after social media users reported that A-Level Mathematics Paper 12 had been leaked before the scheduled exam date. This led to significant concerns among students and parents about the potential impact on the exam’s transparency and integrity.

In response to these concerns, Cambridge International initiated an investigation on May 3. The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the British Council to ensure thoroughness and transparency.

Cambridge International has reassured that fair marks will be assigned based on the performance in other assessments. The institution’s statement emphasizes that both Cambridge and the British Council are working closely to address the situation and maintain the credibility of the examination process.
