Safe Superintelligence is described as an American firm with offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, focusing exclusively on AI safety and security. Sutskever revealed his plans in a post on X, emphasizing the company’s commitment to avoiding distractions from managerial duties and short-term commercial pressures.

Joining Sutskever are Daniel Levy, a former OpenAI researcher, and Daniel Gross, co-founder of Cue and former AI lead at Apple, as co-founders of Safe Superintelligence.

Sutskever departed from Microsoft-backed OpenAI in May, following internal changes including CEO Sam Altman’s departure and return. He was also removed from the company’s board during this period.
