FBR and traders reach an agreement to collaborate on the Tajir Dost Scheme

In Islamabad, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and representatives from major trade unions came together on Friday to discuss and collaborate on the implementation of the Tajir Dost Scheme (TDS), aimed at expanding the country’s tax base.

During the meeting, which included representatives from various trade unions across Pakistan and the TDS Chief Coordinator, Naeem Mir, the focus was on addressing concerns raised by the business community regarding the implementation of the TDS. The goal was to foster a collaborative approach to ensure the success of the scheme.

FBR officials expressed their willingness to consider the reservations and recommendations put forth by the trade community. They encouraged the representatives to submit a unified proposal within one week regarding the registration and taxation of traders under the TDS. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of engaging with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and address any challenges that may arise.
