Takbir Day marks the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998. The day is observed to acknowledge the country’s defense capabilities and its role in ensuring regional stability through a balanced power dynamic.

These nuclear tests made Pakistan the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first Muslim-majority country to develop nuclear weapons. The decision to conduct the tests, made by then Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, was pivotal in maintaining strategic balance in the region despite external pressures.
